About This Episode

Weโ€™re talking about standing your ground.โ€จNot just standing up for your opinions or your feelingsโ€”but standing firm on what the Scriptures say, no matter what culture, social media, or even people close to you might be saying. The Ground is Shaking โ€“ Where Are You Standing? Letโ€™s be real for a second. We live in a time where truth feelsโ€ฆ negotiable. Like everything is up for debate. Morals, identity, valuesโ€”itโ€™s all being rewritten based on whatโ€™s popular, whatโ€™s trending, or what doesnโ€™t โ€œoffend.โ€ But hereโ€™s the thing: Truth doesnโ€™t change just because feelings do.โ€จAnd Godโ€™s Word doesnโ€™t bend under pressure. Isaiah 40:8 says: โ€œThe grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.โ€ Thatโ€™s your anchor. Thatโ€™s your rock. Thatโ€™s the hill worth standing on. Jesus Did It โ€“ And So Should We Jesus Himself stood His ground. When Satan tempted Him in the wilderness, what did He say? โ€œIt is writtenโ€ฆโ€โ€จโ€œIt is writtenโ€ฆโ€โ€จโ€œIt is writtenโ€ฆโ€ Jesus didnโ€™t respond with vibes.โ€จHe didnโ€™t say, โ€œI feel likeโ€ฆโ€ or โ€œIn my opinionโ€ฆโ€โ€จHe went straight to Scripture. And if the Son of God relied on the Word to fight temptation and deception, why would we try to live any other way? Standing Firm Isnโ€™t Being Harsh Now listenโ€”Iโ€™m not saying we should be combative or arrogant. This isnโ€™t about shouting at people or trying to win arguments online. Truth without love is a hammer.โ€จBut love without truth? Thatโ€™s a trap. Ephesians 4:15 tells us to speak the truth in love. That means we donโ€™t compromise, but we also donโ€™t condemn.โ€จWe stand firmโ€”but we do it with grace, humility, and compassion. The Cost of Compromise Hereโ€™s the hard truth: thereโ€™s a cost to compromise.โ€จWhen you water down the Word to make it more palatable, more comfortableโ€”you lose its power. Galatians 1:10 says: โ€œAm I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? ... If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.โ€ Let that sink in. Youโ€™re not called to be popular.โ€จYouโ€™re called to be faithful. So, How Do You Stand Your Ground? Here are three ways to start: 1. Know the Word for Yourself.โ€จDonโ€™t just rely on Sunday sermons or Instagram verses. Get in the Word. Study it. Let it shape your worldview. 2. Pray for Boldness and Wisdom.โ€จAsk God to give you courage to speak truthโ€”and the wisdom to know when and how to do it with love. 3. Surround Yourself with Truth-Tellers.โ€จFind community that sharpens you, not softens your convictions. You need people who will remind you, โ€œHey, stand firm. Donโ€™t waver.โ€ Final Encouragement Listenโ€”standing your ground isnโ€™t always easy.โ€จYou might be misunderstood. You might be labeled.โ€จBut you wonโ€™t be alone. God stands with those who stand with Him.โ€จAnd when the storm hits, youโ€™ll still be standingโ€”because your foundation isnโ€™t cultureโ€ฆ itโ€™s Christ. So today, be bold. Be kind. Be grounded.โ€จAnd above all, stand firm on what the Scriptures say. Thanks for hanging out with me today. If this encouraged you, donโ€™t keep it to yourselfโ€”share it with someone whoโ€™s trying to walk the narrow road. And remember: truth isnโ€™t trendingโ€”but itโ€™s eternal.
