Do Not Worry God Is In Control
Loading
/

Today’s topic is simple, but powerful: Do not worry—God is in control. Now, that might sound like one of those Christian bumper sticker phrases. But I want us to take a few minutes and really unpack what it means to live like we believe God is actually in control.

Let’s Be Honest About Worry

Let’s start with the obvious—we all worry. About money, health, our kids, the future, our relationships, our purpose… the list is long. Worry creeps in like a whisper and before we know it, it’s shouting louder than truth.

But Jesus didn’t ignore worry—He spoke right into it.

In Matthew 6, Jesus says:

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life… Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them… Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:25–27, NIV)

He wasn’t dismissing our fears—He was inviting us to a better perspective.

God Sees What You Don’t

Here’s the thing: Worry comes when we try to control what we were never meant to carry.

But God sees the whole picture—past, present, and future. He sees what’s ahead of you, and He’s already working on your behalf.

Think of the stories in Scripture: Joseph went from a pit to a prison to a palace. Esther was placed in a royal position “for such a time as this.” Even Jesus, facing the cross, surrendered, saying “Not my will, but Yours be done.”

God was always in control—even when it didn’t look like it.

Trusting Doesn’t Mean Ignoring the Storm

It’s okay to acknowledge the storm. Trusting God doesn’t mean pretending everything’s fine. It means saying: “This is hard. This hurts. But I know who holds me.”

Psalm 46:10 reminds us:

“Be still and know that I am God.”

Not “be busy and fix everything.”
Not “be anxious and spiral.”
Just be still—and know.

There is peace in surrender. Not in giving up, but in giving it to God.

So, What Can You Do When You Start to Worry?

Let me leave you with three practical things:

  1. Pause and Breathe.
When anxiety rises, pause. Take a deep breath. Say His name. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is stop and breathe in His presence.

  2. Pray Honestly.
Tell God exactly what you’re worried about. Philippians 4:6 says:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

  3. Practice Reminding Yourself.
Post Scripture. Write down testimonies. Surround yourself with reminders that He’s faithful. Because He is.

Final Encouragement

Friend, I don’t know what you’re walking through right now—but I do know this: You are not alone. And the God who hung the stars in place? He’s holding you, too.

So today, whatever comes your way, I pray you’ll hold on to this truth:
Don’t worry—God is in control.

Thanks for listening today. If this encouraged you, share it with someone who needs it. And as always—stay rooted, stay hopeful, and remember: He’s got you.

Until next time, be blessed.
