Does God Hear Our Cry?

Hey there, and welcome back to the podcast. Iโ€™m so glad youโ€™re here. Todayโ€™s episode is a simple but honest questionโ€”Does God hear our cry?

Maybe youโ€™re asking this with tears in your eyes right now.
Maybe youโ€™ve been in a long season of waiting, or silence, or heartbreak.
And you just want to know: Is God listening?

Letโ€™s talk about that todayโ€”with honesty, with scripture, and with hope.

The Cry That Comes from the Deep

There are times when our prayers are poetic, filled with thanks and praise.
And thenโ€ฆ there are the times when all we can do is cry out.

Maybe itโ€™s a whispered, โ€œHelp me, God.โ€
Or maybe itโ€™s silenceโ€”because the pain is too deep for words.

And hereโ€™s the truth, right from Godโ€™s Word:

Psalm 34:17 says,
โ€œThe righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.โ€

Yes, He hears.
Not just the prayers we speak aloudโ€ฆ but the ones we canโ€™t even form.

In Exodus 3:7, when God spoke to Moses about the suffering of His people in Egypt, He said:
โ€œI have indeed seen the misery of my people… I have heard them crying out… and I am concerned about their suffering.โ€

Seen. Heard. Moved.

God isnโ€™t distant from our pain.
Heโ€™s close.
Closer than we feel.
Even when itโ€™s quiet.

But What About the Silence?

Letโ€™s be realโ€”sometimes it feels like God is silent.
We pray and nothing changes.
We cry and the answer doesnโ€™t come right away.

That doesnโ€™t mean Heโ€™s not listening.
That doesnโ€™t mean He doesnโ€™t care.

Sometimes, the silence is a space where God is working things we canโ€™t yet see.

Psalm 56:8 says,
โ€œYou keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.โ€

That verse wrecks me every time.
Not a single tear wasted.
Not a single cry ignored.

When God Responds

God responds in His timeโ€”and in His way.
Sometimes He brings breakthrough.
Sometimes He brings peace in the waiting.
And sometimesโ€ฆ He brings people to walk with us while we wait.

Isaiah 30:19 says,
โ€œHow gracious He will be when you cry for help! As soon as He hears, He will answer you.โ€

Heโ€™s not delayed because Heโ€™s distant.
Heโ€™s patient because Heโ€™s wise.
Heโ€™s shaping us in the waiting.
But He does answer.

Your Cry is Sacred

If youโ€™re hurting right nowโ€”if youโ€™re crying outโ€”I want to say this as clearly as I can:
God sees you.
God hears you.
And God cares.

Sometimes, your cry is the prayer.
And that prayer moves the heart of God.

Romans 8:26 says,
โ€œThe Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.โ€

Even when you donโ€™t have the wordsโ€”He hears.
Even when all you can do is sit in silenceโ€”Heโ€™s near.

Closing Words

So does God hear our cry?

Yes.
He hears it, He holds it, and He responds to itโ€”sometimes in ways we never expected.

Donโ€™t give up.
Donโ€™t stop crying out.
Even if your voice is shaking. Even if all you have is tears. Heโ€™s listening. Heโ€™s moving. And He loves you more than you know.

Until next time, keep your heart open. Keep your faith alive. And rememberโ€”you are not crying alone.
